This tote is made from reclaimed navy corduroy, finished with blue checked cotton handles and a simple patch pocket for easy access to smaller items. The fabric is used along its original grain, meaning the corduroy wales run widthways rather than vertically, a practical decision based on the material as found.
The construction is unlined and straightforward, keeping the bag lightweight while allowing the fabric to do the work. Designed for everyday carrying of shopping, tools, or daily essentials.
Like all Speedwell pieces, this tote is cut and sewn by hand in England in a small run. No two are exactly alike.
Expect small variations, visible stitching, and signs of the fabric’s previous life. These are part of the character, not defects.
