Reuse What Would Otherwise Be Wasted
Speedwell is a project focused on turning discarded materials into something useful — whether that’s a well-made bag or a mended pair of trousers.
We make durable goods from reclaimed fabric and share practical guides to help you repair, reuse, and keep clothing in use longer.

Built for Use, Made with Care
One-of-a-kind bags, made by hand in England from reclaimed textiles. Designed for everyday function, shaped by the materials we find, and built to last.
Speedwell is run by Neil in Somerset, England. I make functional bags by hand using reclaimed textiles—deadstock, offcuts, and secondhand fabrics that would otherwise go to waste.
Every bag is made one at a time, and most are one-of-one. What I make depends on the material I find. I source the best-quality fabrics I can—often from older stock that’s better made and longer lasting than most mass-produced textiles today.
The aim is simple: to make useful things that are built to last. No unnecessary features, no fast fashion thinking—just good, solid items you can use every day.
Speedwell is also about appreciating slower ways of living. Time outdoors, simple routines, doing things by hand. These bags are made for carrying tools, food, extra layers—for walking, fixing, growing, making.
I believe in using what already exists, keeping things going as long as possible, and designing with care. Thanks for being here and for supporting small, thoughtful production
